Health Promotion Clinics

Special clinics are held for the purpose of promoting better health and preventing illness. The majority of clinics are run by practice nurses. The following are available:

• Drug Dependency Clinic by a Merseyside Drug Counsellor
• Dietetics: dietary advice
• Smoking Cessation Clinic
• Lifestyle / Weight management Clinic

House Clinics

Ophthalmology Clinics are available In-House. Appointments for these clinics are only available on referral from the doctor.

Minor Operations

We will carry out minor operative procedures at the practice, for example, the removal of small lumps and skin abnormalities. Under some circumstances we give steroid injections to inflamed joints.

Immunisation

Children and Young People

An immunisation clinic is held on Thursday afternoons between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Appointments are made through a district computer system, which notifies parents through the post and by telephone when immunisations are due. If your child misses their appointment, please contact the surgery for further information.

Well Child Clinic

This clinic is held on Thursdays between 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

Child Surviellance

New baby checks are conducted along with post-natal review at 6 weeks. The health visitors are available in clinic on a Thursday afternoon to provide advice and health checks

Child Health Reviews

Child Health Reviews are available at eight months, two years and three-and-a-half years of age. All reviews will be carried out at Field Road Health Clinic (opposite the practice).

Family Planning

Each doctor will be happy to give general advice on all aspects of family planning.
